He also teaches annual courses on the Rules of Evidence in Virginia and Family Law Issues. As a recognized legal instructor with National Business Institute, Eric enjoys teaching other criminal defense and family law attorneys on the finer points of law and cutting-edge approaches to trial techniques.

In his free time, Eric Clingan has enjoyed actively participating in Fairfax and Arlington community youth sports as a football referee and baseball umpire. He is also quite active in both state and local politics, having run for the Virginia House of Delegates in 2011. Recently, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors appointed Eric to be a Commissioner on the Fairfax County Ad Hoc Police Practices Review Commission.
